Pop-up Playground @ Central Market
To make adventure play more accessible to Hong Kong children, we hosted a pop-up playground over Mothers’ Day at Central Market, featuring a wide range of experimental play methods. Themed after ‘Ocean Adventure’, our structures were designed and constructed by the CIS student members as well as the general public to explore play. From card-making stations, DIY lava lamp workshops, to a handmade cardboard city, trampoline net ball games, and more, everyone had a blast and the event was a hit!
Monday Funday @ Ladies’ Recreation Club
We had the pleasure of collaborating with the Ladies' Recreation Club to organize an exciting playday for children on two Mondays at one of the open spaces they generously provided us with. We set up a range of activities that were sure to keep the children entertained for hours, including a bouncy castle, human-sized Jenga, Twister, board games, and coloring activities. The playful equipment we worked with attracted around 40 children each session, and it was wonderful seeing them having so much fun. At the end of the session, all attendees received a Create (K)it, making them thrilled with their gift. Overall, it was a fantastic event that brought joy and happiness to everyone involved. We are grateful to the Ladies' Recreation Club for their support and look forward to continuing this project in the future.
Activity Hour @ Chinese International School
We introduced a new initiative called Activity Hour! Activity hour is a time after school when kids from year groups Reception to Year 6 can interact with each other and become much more confident in their soft skills, like collaboration. During our activity hour, we included 3 stations: an Academic Corner, a Fun & Games Corner, and a Reading Corner, led by our PlayProject team. This allows the children to interact with different year levels and build relationships with one another.
